26 Mar Aga Kubish – Meet the Artist
Aga Kubish is a Somerset artist and printmaker who is making waves in the world of Linocut. We are very fortunate to be hosting her first ever solo exhibition Between Land and Sea here at Heart of The Tribe Gallery.
After picking up linocut during lockdown barely a year ago, her print work has developed into some of the most intricate, detailed and spectacular work in this medium that we have come across. Her natural skill as an illustrator has transferred seamlessly into this new way of working.
Today, to coincide with her exhibition, we were very for fortunate to have her come to the gallery to give a demonstration of her incredible monster sized linocut prints. Aga turned our gallery’s events space into her print studio from 12:00 till 16:00, and in that time answered questions and displayed the process behind the creation of her awe-inspiring work.
Both the exhibition and her demonstration has been incredibly well received with admiration for Aga’s work clearly emanating from our guests.
We received some wonderful feedback from our guests who attended the event.
“Most interesting, very informative and most impressed that she has only been doing it for a year.”
“Inspiriting, absolutely breathtaking and amazing skill. To see that level of detail in linocut is astonishing. I enjoyed seeing the work being made live and getting to hear the passion of the Artist.”
Here is a short video of Aga talking about her work;
Aga is an incredibly prolific Artists and we cannot wait to see what large linocut prints she creates next. We shall be sure to share any new pieces on our social media channels once we receive them.
