Heart of The Tribe is proud to present ‘Ink Druv Heart of The Tribe is proud to present ‘Ink Druv’ an exhibition of work from artist Richard Wood, running until 19th June.
Richard Wood’s artworks have a strong duality to them. Many featuring bright and beautiful colours with recognisable comic characters, yet his works often carry a more serious and slightly gruesome undertone.
Richard originated from Sussex and had lived in the South East for most of his life. He had moved to Somerset and lived in Glastonbury for three years before his untimely death in 2022.
He used ‘Ink Druv’ as his artistic name. The word ‘druv’ is an old Sussex dialect simply meaning ‘driven’. There is an old Sussex saying which goes;
“You may push and you may shuv, but I’m hemmed if I’ll be druv”.
This exhibition will take place in Heart of The Tribe Gallery’s event space. Richard’s family wanted to take the opportunity to share Ink Druv’s work with people and allow them to see first-hand Richard’s incredible artistic talents. Heart of The Tribe Gallery is delighted to provide a setting where Richard’s work can be viewed and appreciated by visitors.

This new show will feature the work of two of our Core Artists, Gemma Trickey & Olga Pietruszka.
With recognisable yet differing styles, their pieces complement each other with both artists drawing upon themes that are slightly ethereal and otherworldly. The work has an almost dreamlike quality that allows the viewer’s imagination to wonder.
@gemmatrickeystudio is a Somerset based printmaker working mainly in linocut and woodcut on paper and textiles. Her work features wild and wonderful characters and creatures from folklore and fantasy, often relating to a timeless world of rituals and stories. She is inspired by the work of William Morris and Aubrey Beardsley.
@olga.pietruszka.art work is inspired by cloud formations, she incorporates these forms into her brooding landscapes, seascapes, cloudscapes, mountain views and fjords. Her pieces have a stillness to them whilst typically featuring a sky filled with foreboding. Working predominantly in acrylics, Olga’s paintings have an expressive nature to them that evoke feeling and narrative.
The exhibition will run from Thursday 1st June until Monday 24th July. The gallery will be hosting a special opening event for the public on Saturday 3rd June from 2-4pm. Providing a chance to meet the artists and view the exhibition with complimentary refreshments.
