“ART TALKS” in Conversation with Megan Players

ART TALKS is a monthly eclectic programme of different art practitioners sharing their process of creating.

Megan Players  talks and shows a film about ‘Re-Emergence’ an exhibition / installation in response to the lockdowns which was shown at the Zig Zag building, outside Glastonbury during the Summer of 2021.

Megan Players is an artist, teacher, shiatsu therapist and healing sound practitioner.

“A creative approach and a willingness to expand beyond our preconceived limitations enables us to grow out of constricting situations and towards greater wholeness.”

“Re-Emergence” was an opportunity to reflect and share our personal and collective experiences of the last 19 months. Over 40 people volunteered to pose for me. Their generosity and trust, for the majority had never stood naked in front of a stranger, moved and motivated me.

The resulting 580 paintings were suspended enabling them to gently sway and spin, unexpectedly grouping and regrouping for the visitor to engage with. The raw emotions and nakedness was sometimes challenging and sometimes humorous and uplifting. But such is life.

This event will be held in the workshop space at the end of our garden at Heart of The Tribe Gallery.
