‘Bliss’ Emma Housley solo exhibition

Emma Housley is an artist who loves to represent intense physical and emotional experiences on canvas. With vivid colour and deep layers of texture she takes the viewer into a joyful dreamlike place where you find mediterranean skies and explosions of water. This new body of work, shown at Heart of the Tribe Gallery is art made during the pandemic, where small pleasures become important and we all seek to escape reality and find moments of bliss.
Emma Housley lives and works in Somerset having studied at Fine Art at Cyprus College of Art.
She describes her work as abstract, romantic and intuitive.
“I love paintings to look like an explosion of joy and creativity.”
Working mainly in acrylic on canvas she has recently branched out to create smaller works on wood and paper.
Her exhibition will run from September 23rd until October 18th, with a private view on the evening of the 22nd September between 6.30-8.30pm.
She has a dedicated social media following and her work is very popular on the emerging artist scene having featured in a number of group and solo exhibitions in the Somerset area including the Atkinson Gallery, the RWA, Ace Arts, Frome Art Fair, Clayhill Arts and WHY gallery.
