NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE
A site specific live performance by Melanie Thompson and Grace Surman
A homage to the Zig Zag building and Francesca Woodman
On three consecutive evenings artists Melanie Thompson and Grace Surman will present an hour long immersive performance on the top floor of the building in Glastonbury. Each performance will be unique for just that audience. Composer Joseph Hyde will be creating an original score and the performers will be joined by special guests offering live music and song.
The audience numbers are limited to 25 each night as the audience will travel with the performance.

Melanie Thompson is the creative advisor and a core artist at Heart of the Tribe gallery and has been making site specific work all over the world for the last 30 years but has never made a large indoor performance in Somerset before.

Grace Surman is interested in how we live and experience the world through constraints and conditions around us – be it work, gender or age. She has worked in Live Art since 1995.

Jo Hyde is a composer and sound artist. He worked with Melanie at Dartington College of Arts in the 90s, and has since worked with many performing and visual artists, scientists and technologists all over the world.
