Heart of The Tribe Art Gallery in Glastonbury To Open on 31 August

After the delay of its April opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Heart of The Tribe Gallery at 74 High Street in Glastonbury is pleased to announce its rescheduled opening on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August. The debut exhibit, entitled “Diversity,” will feature the gallery’s 19 core artists, all of whom are based in the Somerset area. Social distancing measures will require limiting the number of visitors in the gallery space and gardens, and strict hygiene protocols will be in place. Open every day except Wednesday, from 11:00 to 17:00, the gallery’s first show will run until 3 November.

A private viewing of the “Diversity” exhibition is available by invitation on Sunday 30 August from 19:00 to 21:30. Vulnerable individuals can request an intimate preview of the exhibition before the private viewing.

“Although it was disappointing to have to delay our opening, it was of course the only option in terms of the safety and wellbeing of our artists, staff and patrons.” says Kim von Coels, gallery manager. “We are more excited than ever to finally be able to launch our first exhibition, and we look forward to seeing local art lovers there.”

Core artists’ work can be viewed, and used with permission, at https://heartofthetribe.com/core-artists/

The Heart of The Tribe has launched their online shop to showcase the works of their core artists. £1 from each print purchased will be donated to the Glastonbury United Reformed Church to support their free community meals programme. Postcards, original works, merchandise and screenprints featuring the Heart of The Tribe logo are also available from the online shop. Please visit https://heartofthetribe.com/shop/ to shop and support the Glastonbury community.

The gallery space and garden will be bookable for events that follow social distancing guidelines. Please contact us for further information.
